Disney reveals official name, date and first details of its streaming service

It's finally taking shape! After a lot of rumors, several strong indications and a lot of expectation, here's the official information about its streaming service that promises to get to shake up Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, HBO Go and other services.
On its website, the company said that the platform will be called Disney + and that the launch is scheduled for the end of 2019, but initially, it should only be available in the United States.

A new series for Star Wars

The company has revealed that new Marvel series and the second live-action series from the Star Wars saga will debut with the streaming service next year. Disney + will launch a spin-off that goes to partner Rebel Cassian Andor with the actor who played the character in Rogue One, Diego Luna. The story will take place during the years of Rebellion formation and before the Rogue One events.

And another series from the Marvel universe

Disney has also confirmed that one of the most beloved villains in the Marvel Film Universe will win its own series. As expected, the company noted that Loki will have a unique series played by Tom Hiddleston, the same actor who played the character in films of the saga. Despite this, we do not know if the story of the series will follow the past of the villain or the future, depending on the events of Avengers 4.

    Many other projects

As Disney + premieres only at the end of 2019, Disney wants to ensure subscribers a lot of new content to watch on its big debut, and it seems that fans of High School Musical and Monsters SA should celebrate even more. The company said new stories from both the worlds are being developed for the streaming service.
And another series of the Star Wars universe is already in production: The Mandalorian. Mandalorians are a people of the planet Mandalore, same place of origin of Boba Fett and Jango Fett. The story of the series will happen after the fall of the Impérido and before the appearance of the First Order.
On the official Disney + website we see logos from Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars and Nat Geo, indicating that all (or the vast majority) productions will be in the catalog of the streaming service. It is very likely that FOX content will be added to the platform until launch, so we'll keep an eye out for you to stay on top of the news.
