Google Pixel 3 XL allows notch to be hidden via software

Released yesterday in the United States, the Google Pixel 3 XL was presented as the first device of the Mountain View giant to count on the inclusion of a notch on its screen, something that left many users dissatisfied.
Like the younger brother, the notch did not mean less edges in the bottom part of the device, something that was hard criticized since the concept behind the inclusion of the notch is precisely to maximize the use and thus, to keep the device small.
However, according to Google itself, part of this annoyance can be circumvented thanks to the possibility of hiding notch, as in other brands such as those seen in LG G7 ThinQ and ASUS Zenfone 5 and Zenfone 5Z .
Although not a novelty, the possibility of hiding the notch is not standardized and the Pixel 3 XL does not take advantage of the hidden area like the devices of other brands, thus becoming all black and the notification bar, repositioned below the notch, as it is possible to see in the photo shared by Lewis Hilsenteger of the Unbox Therapy channel..
It is not known, however, whether the idea of Google was to make the devices look the same as having the notch hidden or if there was any other justification for the "differentiated" format.
