Google Chrome: Upcoming Update May "Block" Hundreds of Sites

While the upcoming 71 edition may come with a new dark mode , version 70 of Google Chrome may limit the navigation of many users. Scheduled to be released on October 16, the update will prevent the opening of hundreds of sies due to the use of invalid HTTPS certificates.
The finding was made by safety researcher Scott Helme. The cause would be the US company Symantec, accused by Google of offering unsecured certificates since last year.
Helme said that among the 1 million sites most accessed globally, 1,139 pages use company certificates. Among the Brazilian pages are the VR Benefits and the Assine Globo - the group's signature page.
In this way, if not modified in time, the more than 1,000 Symantec certified sites will have an error message - already displayed in the beta version of the browser - in place of the original content.
It is important to explain that the HTTPS protocol enables the data transferred between the user and the website server to be encrypted and secure from any hacker attack.
