But already ?! Huawei works on Kirin 990 for next-generation chipsets
Huawei is already working on the successor to its Kirin 990 chip. The Chinese manufacturer would have the cooperation of the Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Company (TSMC) to test the next generation of hardware.
The company's plans would include the launch of the future chipset in the first quarter of next year. In addition, the investment needed for production would not be cheap. Speculation indicates an approximate value of 200 million Yuan (~ R $ 108 million).
The information further states that Kirin 990 will use TSMC's second-generation 7-nanometer manufacturing process. Compared to the former, the density is 20% more, the energy consumption is reduced by 10% and the overall performance increases by about 10%.
The trend is that the chip model is also the first 5G compatible brand and has a built-in Balong 5000 baseband.
For the future hardware, Huawei intends to maintain the success already achieved in the latest component, the Kirin 980. Present in the company's latest smartphones, the handsets equipped with it - the Mate family 20 - dominated the latest AnTuTu released ranking on October.
