Successor of 845, Snapdragon 8150 comes up with details of speed and architecture

The news about the direct successor to the Snapdragon 845 does not stop leaking in early October. After already emerging in September as possible Snapdragon 855, it is now increasingly defined that Qualcomm has decided to change the nomenclature of its main and more powerful mobile chipset, perhaps to distance itself from the Snapdragon 850 aimed at notebooks , or just by wanting ( we will not know until the official release).
After appearing on leaked documents of Samsung's collapsible Galaxy F smartphone, and also passing a benchmark test , new information now highlights core information, speeds, and chipset architectures that should equip the major Android 2019 flagships.

According to the German site WinFuture that obtained exclusive data regarding the successor of Snapdragon 845, the chipset for 2019 is known internally as "sm8150" and reinforces the new nomenclature that has leaked in recent days. The information highlights that the chip will have eight cores once again, four of them focused on energy efficiency and four for high performance.
In terms of architecture, Qualcomm names the novelty as Gold and Silver for the cores, but as XDA Developers reminds us, it is likely that this is just marketing for the company to renew the old big.LITTLE architecture, but of course we will see news in relation to the Kryo nuclei themselves.
And while the development of the Silver numbers rely on "only" 1.7 GHz frequency, Gold models will be more performance-oriented and working at frequencies up to 2.6 GHz.
And as well as all of its competitors, Qualcomm will also follow the same steps as Huawei and Apple with the launch of its 7-nanometer lithographic processor, ensuring faster speeds, higher efficiency and lower battery consumption compared to the previous version of the chipset. And as well as the rivals, Qualcomm should bet on a neural processing unit dedicated to the chipset.
Qualcomm is due to present the Snapdragon 8150 in mid-December as is the company's tradition at the Snapdragon Summit event. More news should come in the coming weeks, so keep an eye on it!
