Customers Celebrate: TIM and Vivo to Share 3G Network to Expand Coverage
We know that TIM has announced that it will share the structure of 3G with Claro , in order to signal both carriers to even more Brazilian municipalities.
Claro will not be TIM's only partner in this venture, seeing that Vivo, together with Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM), just announced a similar agreement on Thursday (11).
The combined include sharing the infrastructure of the 3G mobile network in the municipalities already contemplated, taking an extra operator to at least 570 new cities.
We are talking about more than 131 million users of both telecoms, who will have an experience of optimized use by the efficient use of the existing infrastructure, which will allow the investment in other resources.
In the inbound process (when Vivo "borrows" the TIM network), the 3G frequencies used are those of 2.1 GHz: already in 2G they switch between 850 and 1800 MHz.
It is worth remembering that in addition to including Claro and Vivo in the play, Oi was also invited to be a partner of TIM in this type of business.
In mid-July, TIM officially signed a contract with the MOCN ( Multi Operator Core Network ) model with its competitor to use the 1.8 and 2.5 GHz bands in LTE.
Single network for all carriers
In ambitious plans, TIM has suggested the business model it calls full-sharing / single-grid , a kind of complete infrastructure sharing.
Through this, the mobile operator aims to establish a unique network for all telecoms in the country, something that could be a true "hand in the wheel".
The maintenance costs would be split, causing more money to invest in new technologies and service improvements.
