Correios announces new readjustment of 5.99% for postal rates; CAP and Sedex remain unchanged

Published in the Federal Official Gazette last Friday (9) by the Ministry of Science, Technology, Innovations, and Communications (MCTIC), the Post Office has just officially announced a new readjustment for the company's postal services tariffs, with an average readjustment of 5.99%.

The increase will be allocated to the following services: the first size of the business letter goes from R $ 1.85 to R $ 1.95 since the postcard and the non-commercial letter have readjustment of 5 cents, now R $ 1, 30 each. Other services such as the phoned telegram are offered at R $ 9.84 and R $ 11.81 at branches. Meanwhile, the national telegram written on the internet is set at R $ 8.15 per page.

The post office guarantees that the advertised adjustments are not valid for orders and direct marketing, therefore, delivery services such as PAC and Sedex follow the standard already stipulated, including the controversial universal rate of R $ 15 for all international orders that arrive in Brazil by the Post Office with the justification of "maintaining the standard of service" due to the increase in demand.
